With "January", I wanted to make a jazz piano record in the spirit of some of my fave solo piano artists. George Winston, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk and Rachmaninov are just a few of the musicians who shaped my playing and whose influence, however warped and wilted, can be heard here. This album is what I think it would sound like if you left Christmas music out in the rain. I hope you enjoy these jangly essays in post-holiday malaise as another cold, grey new year cracks open like the meat freezer in your Grandmas basement. Put it on, take a nap. :)
